Shillong, March 28, 2026: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Saturday disbursed nearly ₹130 crore under key state welfare schemes at a programme held at Polo Ground, Shillong, benefiting over 27,700 individuals and 235 farmer cooperatives.
The disbursement was made under flagship initiatives including FOCUS+, GREEN Meghalaya+, LIFCOM, MegLIFE, Floriculture Mission, and CM ELEVATE, aimed at strengthening grassroots growth and livelihoods across the state.
During the event, the Chief Minister inaugurated 128 MegLIFE Community Halls, 34 Warehouses, 4 Common Facility Centres. These projects were developed at a combined cost of over ₹48 crore to support community and economic activities.
Officials informed that ₹6.04 crore was distributed to 24,482 beneficiaries under FOCUS+, ₹25.54 crore was disbursed to 2,719 beneficiaries under GREEN Meghalaya+. The GREEN Meghalaya+ programme has now crossed a cumulative disbursement of over ₹100 crore.
Under various schemes ₹27 crore was extended to 235 cooperatives through LIFCOM, ₹22 crore disbursed to 320 beneficiaries under Floriculture Mission, ₹76 lakh provided to 180 entrepreneurs under CM ELEVATE. These initiatives aim to boost agriculture, entrepreneurship, and rural income generation.
The Chief Minister stated that the government now runs over 30 targeted welfare schemes, benefiting more than 8 lakh citizens across Meghalaya. He highlighted that flagship programmes have significantly impacted farmers, women, entrepreneurs, and students.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment under the “Magnificent Meghalaya Vision 2032,” the Chief Minister said the focus remains on strengthening community institutions and ensuring inclusive development across the state. The large-scale disbursement and project inaugurations underscore the state government’s push to accelerate grassroots development and improve livelihoods through targeted welfare initiatives.
