MEGHALAYA STATE HOUSING BOARD DISSOLVED, EMPLOYEES HONORED

Shillong, August 27 : A facilitation program was held on Tuesday to mark the dissolution of the Meghalaya State Housing Board, which will officially cease operations on August 28, 2024.

The ceremony, organized by the Directorate of Housing, honored employees of the board who have accepted the Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS).

Addressing the gathering, Damanbait Lamare, the Chairman of the Meghalaya State Housing Board, announced the government’s decision to dissolve the board. He expressed gratitude to the staff for their dedicated service and acknowledged the challenges faced by employees who retired or passed away during their tenure.

Lamare highlighted the generous financial package offered through the VRS, ensuring that employees are not left without support.

During the ceremony, the first installment of cheques was presented to 18 employees who have completed 30 years of service.

The program was attended by several dignitaries, including F.M Dopth, Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya Housing Department, T Nongsteng, Accountant, D Nongsiej, S.E., and others.
