Shillong, February 3 : In a joint operation on February 2nd, the East Khasi Hills Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) and Mawryngkneng Police Station intercepted a Tata Yodha vehicle (MZ01Z/3654) carrying contraband while traveling from Shillong to Mizoram.
The vehicle was found to be transporting:
10.455 kilograms of Ganja
235 bottles of alcohol (750 ml)
The operation led to the apprehension of three individuals: Sabina Lalnunmawiii (23 years old) from Champhai, Mizoram, Lalrinmawia Chenkua (19 years old) from Dapchhuah, Mizoram and Lalrosanga (28 years old) from Tlangnuam, Aizawl, Mizoram.
The contraband was concealed within a green sofa set.
The seized items, along with the vehicle and the apprehended individuals, have been seized by the police. A case has been registered at Mawryngkneng Police Station under sections 20(b)(ii)(b) and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
