Shillong, February 26 : The Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament, a nationwide initiative designed to engage young voices in national discussions, has announced its district-level events, with several Meghalaya institutions set to host the competitions.
The Youth Parliament, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, aims to provide a dynamic platform for youth to share their vision for Viksit Bharat@2047. The initiative will be conducted offline and implemented in collaboration with My Bharat, fostering leadership, civic participation, and structured policy discussions.
The competition will be held at three levels: district, state, and national. In Meghalaya, the following institutions have been selected to host the district-level events:
- East Khasi Hills: NEHU
- South West Khasi Hills: Sngap Syiem College
- West Jaintia Hills & East Jaintia Hills: Don Bosco College Byndihati
- Eastern West Khasi Hills & West Khasi Hills District: Mairang Presbyterian Science College
- Ri-Bhoi District: USTM
- East Garo Hills, North Garo Hills, South Garo Hills, South West Garo Hills, and West Garo Hills: Tura Government College
The district-level topic is “One Nation One Election: Paving Way for Viksit Bharat.” State-level topics include “75 Years of Indian Constitution: A Journey of Rights, Duties, and Progress” and “The 11 Sankalp of Samvidhan Divas: A Pledge to Strengthen India’s Constitutional Values.” The national-level topic is “One Nation, One Election, Simplifying Democracy, Amplifying Progress, Ensuring Stability.”
Online registration for participants aged 18-25 (as of February 1, 2025) is open from February 25, 2025, to March 9, 2025, through the My Bharat portal. Participants must submit a mandatory one-minute video. Each participant will have 3-4 minutes to speak, and speeches can be delivered in English or Hindi.
