Tura, September 5 : In a major breakthrough, the West Garo Hills District Police have arrested four absconding accused involved in a brutal murder case that took place at Mangakggre village under Damal Asim Police Station.
On September 12, 2024, unknown miscreants brutally murdered Karak N. Sangma, son of late Walistone B. Marak of Mangakggre village, and dumped his body by the roadside. Following the crime, Damal Asim PS registered Case No. 02/2024 under Section 103(2) of BNS, along with added sections 111(2)(a)(3), 232(1), 249(a)/3(5), and initiated investigation.
After extensive search operations and meticulous investigation, three accused who had been evading arrest since rejection of their pre-arrest bail were apprehended from Mangakggre village on September 4, 2025. They have been identified as Tinet B. Marak, Pringsbirth N. Sangma and Donath N. Sangma
Acting on a tipoff, the Officer-in-Charge of Damal Asim PS apprehended the fourth accused, Dilax B. Marak, on September 5, 2025, also from Mangakggre village.
With these arrests, significant progress has been achieved in the case. The accused will be produced before the Court today.
