Meghalaya Football Association Issues Directive on Unauthorised Tournaments

Shillong, September 29 : The Meghalaya Football Association (MFA), following the directiveof the All India Football Federation (AIFF), has taken a firm decision to regulate unauthorised andunregistered football tournaments in the State.As per the decision of the Executive Committee:

  1. Permission Process
    â—‹ All organisers of unauthorised or unregistered tournaments must seek permission from the respective Association.
    â—‹ The Association shall forward the application to the Meghalaya Football Association for final approval.
  2. Consequences of Non-Compliance
    â—‹ Any unauthorised or unregistered tournament held without the permission of their respective Association and the approval of the MFA will face strict action.
    â—‹ Players registered under the Central Registration System (CRS) of AIFF and those registered with the affiliated units of MFA who participate in such tournaments will be subject to disciplinary measures, including fines and suspension.
    â—‹ Referees/Match Officials registered under the CRS of AIFF and affiliated with the MFA who officiate in such tournaments will also face disciplinary measures,
    including fines and suspension.

The MFA strongly advises all organisers, players, referees, and officials to comply with the proper procedures. This step is being taken to ensure fair, transparent, and regulated football activity across Meghalaya, in line with the rules and governance of AIFF.
