Ranji trophy 2025-26: Manipur trail Meghalaya by 250 runs at close of Day-2

Shillong, November 17: Manipur are 180/4 in their first innings in response to Meghalaya’s imposing 430 all out on the second day of their Ranji Trophy 2025-26 plate group match in Surat today.

Resuming on 359/5 in the morning, Meghalaya added a further 71 runs for their last five wickets. Overnight batters Kush Agarwal and Swastic Chettri were out for 34 and 18 respectively, while Aryan Borah chipped in with an unbeaten 23 lower down the order.

Four Manipur bowlers took a brace of wickets each – Johnson Singh (2/34), Ajay Singh (2/51), Jotin Pheiroijam (2/58) and Bishworjit (2/77).

In response, Manipur were under pressure and lost four wickets for 93 on the board. However, an unbroken fourth wicket stand of 82 between AL Bashid (52 not out) and Priyojit (49 not out) ensured that Manipur, the hosts for this match, survived without further loss at stumps.

For Meghalaya, the four scalps were shared evenly between Akash Chaudhary (1/30), Chengkam Sangma (1/31), Aryan (1/34) and Swastic (1/47).
