Shillong, November 27 : The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District, has announced a temporary night-time traffic closure on the Shillong–Dawki Road due to ongoing construction activities at Km 4+700 (Shillong Peak Junction).
According to the public notice issued by the Deputy Commissioner (Revenue), vehicular movement from 5th Mile Junction towards the Air Force Station Gate, Shillong Peak, will remain closed from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM between November 29 and December 1, 2025.
Only emergency and authorised service vehicles will be allowed to pass during this period. The executing agency will install signage and barricades to ensure safety for all road users.
Commuters are advised to plan their travel accordingly and to use the Pomlakarai–12th Mile Road as an alternative route while the closure is in effect.
Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with the traffic arrangements to facilitate smooth progress of the ongoing road project under the Shillong–Dawki corridor.
