Shillong, February 8 : Unidentified miscreants burgled the State Bank of India ATM at Mylliembah under Mawngap Police Station in the early hours of Sunday and decamped with ₹35 lakh in cash.
Police said the break-in occurred around 2:30 a.m., and the entire operation was carried out within seven minutes, indicating a well-planned and swift execution by the culprits.
A team from the Crime Scene Unit (CSU) has been called in to examine the site and collect forensic evidence. Authorities have initiated a case and launched an investigation to identify and apprehend those involved.
Officials are scrutinising CCTV footage and other technical inputs to trace the movement of the suspects. Further details are awaited as the probe continues.
