Shillong, March 18: The Government of Meghalaya has appointed ten Members of the District Council as Executive Members of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) following the advice of the Chief Executive Member.
According to a notification issued by the District Council Affairs Department, the appointments were made under the provisions of Rule 20 read with sub-rule (1) of Rule 19 of the Assam and Meghalaya Autonomous Districts (Constitution of District Councils) Rules, 1951 (as amended).
As per the notification, Stevie M. Marak has been appointed as the Deputy Chief Executive Member, while the following individuals have been appointed as Executive Members of the Council: Sengbath R. Marak, Cherak W. Momin, Arbinstone B. Marak, Crozier G. Momin, Henen R. Sangma, Alphonsush R. Marak, Grahamdell A. Sangma, Asahdel D. Shira, Nehru D. Sangma.
The notification was issued on March 18, 2026, by the District Council Affairs Department on behalf of the Governor of Meghalaya.
