Shillong, April 01 : Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) has strengthened its engagement with Mawmluh Village by formally handing over key research and development deliverables, marking a significant milestone in its community-based initiatives. The handover ceremony, held on March 31, included the transfer of a comprehensive research report, posters, brochures on the cave, and a village map, highlighting findings from a collaborative study conducted in Mawmluh
Earlier, on March 20, MLCU and Mawmluh Village formalised their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement reflects a shared vision to promote inclusive development and stronger academic-community collaboration. The signing ceremony was attended by university officials and representatives of the Mawmluh Sirdarship, reinforcing the commitment to joint initiatives.
The initiative is part of MLCU’s ongoing efforts to Support community-based research, Promote sustainable development and Address local challenges through academic collaboration. The event saw participation from the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, faculty members, and representatives from the Mawmluh Tourism and Allied Activities Cooperative Society (MTAACS).
MLCU reiterated its commitment to building meaningful partnerships with local communities, stating that the collaboration with Mawmluh Village will continue through research, capacity-building, and development initiatives. The MoU is expected to pave the way for a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship, contributing to both academic advancement and grassroots development.
