Tura Schools Lead Garo Hills’ Strong Showing in MBOSE SSLC Results

Tura, April 07 : Schools in Tura delivered an impressive performance in the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) SSLC Examination 2026, with students securing top ranks in the state merit list. The results, declared on Tuesday, recorded an overall state pass percentage of 86.84%.

Embee Rosebud Higher Secondary School, Tura, emerged as one of the leading institutions, with Vishal Kumar securing the State Second Rank by scoring 576 marks (96%). He credited his achievement to the support of his teachers and increased focus on studies during the examination period. The school also reported strong overall results, with all 63 candidates passing, including 54 in the first division.

Pechon A Sangma Memorial Police Public Secondary School, Tura, also registered a notable achievement, with Prinita Das securing the State Third Rank with 575 marks. She attributed her success to consistent study habits and the encouragement of her parents and teachers. Prinita plans to pursue science with the aim of entering the medical field.

The school further saw two students, Tushar Das and Pragati Gupta, securing the 11th and 18th positions respectively in the state’s Top-20 merit list.

Sherwood School, Tura, also featured in the merit list, with Adiel R. Sangma and Churchill Leitanthem securing the 19th and 20th ranks respectively.

The performance of Tura schools in this year’s SSLC results highlights the growing academic standards in the Garo Hills region, with multiple students making their mark at the state level.
