Shillong, April 9: The Assam Rifles on Thursday successfully organised the second Assam Rifles Ex-Servicemen Association (ARESA) Conclave in Shillong, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening ties with its veteran community.
A total of 35 Presidents and Secretaries from ARESA centres across the country participated in the conclave. Deliberations focused on improving coordination, enhancing accountability, and strengthening the functionality of ARESA centres, while also incorporating feedback to better serve ex-servicemen and their dependents.
The discussions were primarily centred on ensuring the welfare and well-being of Assam Rifles veterans and their families.
During the event, top-performing centres were recognised for their exemplary contributions. ARESA Centre Dehradun secured the first position and received a rolling trophy along with a cash prize. ARESA Centre Gorakhpur and ARESA Centre Silchar secured the second and third positions respectively.
In a significant initiative to recognise contributions of veterans, the conclave also introduced the “Veteran Achiever Award”. A total of 16 veterans were felicitated with salvers and cash awards for their outstanding service and dedication towards the welfare of the ex-servicemen community.
The conclave reaffirmed the Assam Rifles’ continued commitment to the welfare, recognition, and engagement of its veterans, underscoring its dedication to those who have served the nation with distinction.
