Shillong, April 15: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Election Committee has announced the list of candidates for the upcoming General Election to the Central Executive Council (CEC) for the term 2026–2029.
According to an official notification issued by the Election Committee, the election will be held on May 9, 2026, at Dinam Hall, Jaiaw, Shillong, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
The Committee informed that a total of 38 candidates have been scrutinized and approved to contest the election.
For the top posts, Raymond Kharjana has been elected unopposed as President, Pynkmenlang Sanmiet as Vice President, and Reuben Anderson Najiar as General Secretary.
For the post of Assistant General Secretary, Melajied Khongbuh and Pynshaiborlang Rani are in the fray. The Organising Secretary post will see four candidates contesting, while five candidates are vying for the position of Education Secretary.
Similarly, five candidates are contesting for the post of Information and Publicity Secretary, while seven candidates are in the race for Office Secretary. Four candidates each are contesting for Sports & Cultural Secretary and multiple candidates are also contesting for Environment Secretary.
The Election Committee, headed by Chairman Danny Khyriem and Secretary Samuel B. Jyrwa, stated that all preparations are in place to ensure smooth conduct of the election.
