Shillong, May 15: The office of the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Pynursla has announced temporary closure of a stretch of the Shillong-Dawki road from Laitlyngkot to Lyngkyrdem for all vehicular movement for three days beginning May 17.
According to a public notice issued by the administration, the road will remain closed from 7:00 AM of May 17 till 7:00 AM of May 20, 2026.
The closure has been necessitated in the interest of public safety and to facilitate construction activities, movement of heavy machinery, excavation and related works along the affected stretch.
Commuters have been advised to cooperate with the authorities and use alternative routes via Pynursla-Dawki-Amlarem and Pynursla-Nongjri-Sohra during the closure period.
The administration has also urged travellers to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
