Shillong, June 30: Acclaimed Khasi feature film Ha Lyngkha Bneng (The Elysian Field), directed by Pradip Kurbah, has been named the First Runner-up in the FIPRESCI-India Grand Prix 2025, securing the second position in the prestigious list of the Top 10 Indian Films.
The recognition was announced by FIPRESCI-India, the Indian chapter of the Fédération Internationale de la Presse Cinématographique. The annual Grand Prix and Top 10 list are selected through a secret ballot conducted among members of FIPRESCI-India, honouring outstanding achievements in Indian cinema.
The latest accolade marks another milestone in the film’s successful festival journey and underscores the growing recognition of Khasi cinema on the national stage. The honour reflects the collective efforts of the film’s cast, crew, producers and collaborators, whose contributions helped bring the project to life.
The recognition also acknowledges the unwavering support of Hello Meghalaya, along with the film’s partners and well-wishers who stood by the project throughout its journey.
With this latest achievement, Ha Lyngkha Bneng (The Elysian Field) further strengthens the presence of Khasi-language cinema in India’s contemporary film landscape, reaffirming the ability of regional storytelling to resonate with both audiences and film critics across the country.
