Shillong, September 5: Former Nongthymmai MLA Dr. Jemino Mawthoh has decided to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), more than a year after leaving the United Democratic Party (UDP), with the decision reportedly receiving the support of his followers.
Supporters who spoke at a meeting expressed their backing for Dr. Mawthoh’s decision to join the BJP, citing their aspiration to see greater developmental initiatives implemented in the Nongthymmai Constituency.
Dr. Mawthoh said he will formally join the BJP on September 12, 2026.
