Shillong, October 5: The Meghalaya government has revised the dates of the state holidays for Maha Navami and Maha Dashami in 2026, shifting them to October 20 and 21, respectively.
In a corrigendum issued on October 5, the General Administration (A) Department said the change was made in partial modification of an earlier notification dated October 21, 2025.
According to the corrigendum, the holidays listed for Maha Navami and Maha Dashami under the General Holiday list as well as the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, should now be read as October 20 and October 21, 2026, instead of the previously notified October 19 and October 20, 2026.
The revised dates will therefore apply to the state government holiday calendar as well as the corresponding holidays notified under the Negotiable Instruments Act.
