SHILLONG LAJONG FC TO RETURN TO I-LEAGUE AFTER 4 YEARS

Shillong, November 07 : Shillong Lajong FC is set to return to the I-League after a 4-year absence. The club finished as runners-up in the Second Division I-League last season to secure a return to the top flight.

Shillong Lajong will begin their 2023/24 I-League campaign with the North-East Derby against Neroca FC on November 9, 2023 at 2pm at the SSA Stadium, Shillong.

The club has registered a maximum number of 21 local players in its squad for this season’s I-League campaign. This is the first time in the club’s history that it has registered so many local players.

Some of the interesting names in the squad include Hardy Cliff Nongbri, Phrangki Buam, Kenstar Kharshong, Kynsailang Khongsit, Allen Camper Lyngdoh Nongbri, Damaitphang Lyngdoh, Atlanson Kharmaw, Gladdy Nelcen Kharbuli, Iohborlang Lyngdoh Lyngkhoi, Ronney Willson Kharbudon, Henryford Nongneng, Saveme Tariang, Figo Syndai, Batskhemlang Thangkhiew, Sangti Janai Shianglong, Hamedamanbha Wahlang, Ronaldkydon Lyngdoh Nonglait, Wadajied Kynsai Ryngkhlem, Everbrightson Sana Mylliempdah, Kynsaibor Lhuid and Shano Tariang.

Some of these players have come up from the club’s youth academy, while a few of them have already made their I-League debut against Mohammedan SC.

Shillong Lajong’s home campaign promises to be an exciting one for the club and its fans. The club has eight home games scheduled to be played in the months of November and December.

Tickets for the home game against Neroca FC will go on sale from November 7 onwards and will be available at the following locations:
