ASSAM RIFLES COMMANDERS CONFERENCE HELD IN SHILLONG

Shillong, March 23 : The Assam Rifles Commanders Conference 2025 was convened at the Headquarters Directorate General Assam Rifles, Laitkor, Shillong, on Monday under the chairmanship of Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General Assam Rifles. The conference brought together Formation Commanders, Battalion Commanders, and Staff Officers from Headquarters DGAR and various formations.

Addressing the gathering, Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera lauded the force for its professionalism and performance under challenging conditions. He underscored the importance of safeguarding the Indo-Myanmar border and maintaining security in the Kashmir Valley, urging personnel to remain prepared for emerging and future security challenges.

The conference featured detailed discussions on enhancing operational capability and combat readiness. Key deliberations included the induction of next-generation weapons and equipment, sharing of best practices across units, and strengthening training and skill development initiatives for personnel.

As part of the event, the Assam Rifles Rajbhasha Shield Yojna awards were announced. The 23 Assam Rifles secured the first position, followed by 28 Assam Rifles in second place and 34 Assam Rifles in third, for their outstanding implementation of Rajbhasha initiatives.

The Director General also commended Formation and Unit Commanders for maintaining peace and stability in their respective areas. He called for continued vigilance in view of the evolving security environment.

The conference concluded with a renewed commitment from all participants to uphold the highest standards of operational excellence and to strive for excellence across all domains.
