British Pop Icons Blue & Grammy-Nominated reggae star Julian Marley to Headline Me’gong Festival 2025

Shillong, November 28 : The excitement around the Me’gong Festival 2025 continues to build as two more global sensations- Blue, the iconic British pop-R&B boy band, and Julian Marley, internationally acclaimed reggae artist and son of music legend Bob Marley join this year’s lineup. They will perform alongside previously announced headliners, pop-rock luminary Richard Marx and world-famous electronic duo Yellow Claw, when the festival returns to Tura on December 5 and 6, 2025.

This expanded roster marks one of the most diverse and dynamic lineups curated for the festival, blending global icons with celebrated Indian performers and local talent. In addition to the international acts, Me’gong Festival 2025 will also feature Bollywood stars Kanika Kapoor and Neeti Mohan, adding a powerful contemporary Indian music presence to the stage.

The festival continues its tradition of spotlighting local excellence with an impressive lineup of homegrown artists, including Rough Road, Hoi Hoi Makbil, Haystack Ladies, G-Hills Finest, Crack Gang, and Ahaia, ensuring a rich musical tapestry that brings together global rhythms and Garo Hills’ cultural identity.

Aligned with the vision of Conrad K. Sangma, Chief Minister, Me’gong remains a central pillar in Meghalaya’s cultural economy strategy, where festivals create tourism opportunities, support creative livelihoods, and promote indigenous heritage at a national and global scale. With more than 3 lakh visitors recorded at the 2024 edition, the festival continues to elevate the Garo Hills as a major cultural and tourism destination.

Beyond the music, Me’gong offers an immersive cultural experience featuring Garo cuisine, traditional crafts, weaving and bamboo workshops, beaded jewellery, and a strong sustainability-led approach with zero-plastic operations and community-driven waste management.
