BSF MEGHALAYA RESCUES 37 CATTLE ON INTERNATIONAL BORDER

Shillong, July 19 : Vigilant troops of the Border Security Force (BSF) in Meghalaya rescued 37 cattle on the international border of East Khasi Hills on July 18. The cattle were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh.

Acting on a specific tip-off, a special ambush party of the 193rd Battalion of the BSF seized the cattle while they were being taken towards the international boundary by smugglers. On being challenged by the BSF troops, the smugglers fled from the spot by taking advantage of the undulating ground.

The seized cattle were handed over to the concerned police station for further necessary action. The BSF is maintaining a high degree of alertness in the bordering areas to prevent all types of trans-border crimes.
