Tura, July 16 : In a significant operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya Frontier has successfully thwarted a large-scale infiltration attempt, apprehending 26 Bangladeshi nationals and four Indian touts near the International Border in the West Garo Hills District. The arrests, based on precise intelligence inputs, highlight the continuous vigilance and operational efficiency of the BSF in safeguarding national security.
According to a press release issued today, alert troops of the 22 Battalion BSF Meghalaya initiated the operation after receiving specific intelligence about an infiltration attempt. At Matchokpara on Hill Road, BSF personnel observed three vehicles traveling from the Purakhasia side towards Barengapara along State Highway-12 (SH-12).
The operational team swiftly intercepted the target vehicles. Subsequent verification confirmed that the 26 Bangladeshi nationals were being facilitated by the four Indian touts in an attempt to illegally enter India. All individuals involved were successfully taken into custody by the vigilant BSF personnel.
