Shillong, April 11: Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Saturday felicitated 41 students from various child care institutions across the Khasi and Jaintia Hills region who successfully passed the SSLC Examination 2026.
The felicitation programme was organised by the Social Welfare Department, Government of Meghalaya, to honour the achievements of children who have overcome challenges to excel academically.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister congratulated the students for their success, courage and hard work. He noted that success is not determined by easy circumstances, but by the ability to rise above difficulties, adding that the students have proven their strength and determination despite the challenges they faced.
He encouraged the students to continue striving for excellence with dedication and perseverance, urging them to stay focused on their goals.
In addition to the cash awards presented during the programme, the Chief Minister announced that the higher secondary education of the students will be supported by the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.
The event was also attended by Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui and officials from the Social Welfare Department.
