CM SOLAR MISSION OFFERS SUBSIDIES OF UPTO 70% FOR SOLAR UNITS

Shillong, August 11 : Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma launched the Chief Minister’s Solar Mission (CMSM) on August 11, 2023, at the State Convention Centre in Shillong. The CMSM is a government initiative to promote the use of solar energy in Meghalaya.

The CMSM offers a range of subsidies for solar hybrid inverters and solar water heaters. Households, institutions, and businesses can avail of subsidies of up to 50% for solar hybrid inverters and up to 30% for solar water heaters. The CMSM also offers a nominal down payment of 10% for all solar systems.

In addition to subsidies, the CMSM also provides for the integration of solar systems with the main grid through net metering. This means that homes and businesses that generate solar power can sell excess power back to the grid, reducing their electricity bills.

The CMSM is a major step forward for Meghalaya in its efforts to promote green energy. The mission is expected to benefit thousands of households and businesses across the state. It is also expected to create jobs in the solar energy sector.

The CMSM is a comprehensive and innovative initiative that is well-positioned to make a significant impact on Meghalaya’s energy landscape. The mission is a testament to the Chief Minister’s commitment to sustainable development and his vision for a greener Meghalaya.
