Tura, January 03 : A resident of West Garo Hills has filed a complaint against Biswajit Tapadar, the proprietor of Ujjala Jewelers, alleging misappropriation of gold jewelry.
According to the complaint, on August 14, 2023, the complainant entrusted a gold bangle belonging to his wife, along with 8.880 grams of gold, to Tapadar for redesigning. A year later, on August 14, 2024, the complainant gave Tapadar another gold bangle weighing 10.020 grams and Rs. 22,000 to create a matching bangle. The agreed delivery date for both bangles was October 29, 2024.
However, the complainant states that Ujjala Jewelers has remained closed since then, and the jewelry has not been returned. The police are now investigating the matter and are looking into the allegations of fraud against the jeweler.
