Tura, March 13 : The overall situation in Tura town has shown marked improvement as of March 13, 2026. However, in order to maintain peace and security and prevent the recurrence of violence or any untoward incidents, the curfew in the town has been further extended.
According to the district administration, the curfew will remain in force from 6:00 AM on March 14, 2026, until 6:00 AM on March 15, 2026.
Authorities have, however, announced a curfew relaxation from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on March 14, allowing residents to move freely to attend to essential activities and procure necessary supplies.
Law enforcement agencies, including the police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), remain deployed in most parts of the town to ensure the maintenance of law and order. Security personnel are maintaining strict vigil to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure the safety of residents.
The district administration expressed heartfelt gratitude to church leaders, local communities, and enforcement agencies for their continuous efforts in restoring peace and normalcy in the town.
Officials stated that the cooperation and support extended by community leaders and residents have played a crucial role in improving the situation.
In a show of solidarity and hope for peace, a prayer service was held at Hawakhana Junction on Friday, led by church leaders from various denominations.
The gathering was attended by prominent leaders, senior citizens, and a large number of residents who came together to pray for peace and the early restoration of normalcy in the town.
Meanwhile, authorities reported that the situation in the plains belt areas of Chibinang and Rajabala remains largely peaceful at present.
Security forces continue to remain deployed in these areas to maintain constant monitoring and prevent any escalation of violence.
