DC Mandate Internal Complaints Committees Under PoSH Act

Shillong, September 02 : The Office of the Deputy Commissioner for the East Khasi Hills District has issued a press release directing all public and private institutions in the district to form an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) as required by the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.

According to the press release, institutions have 30 days from September 1, 2025, to constitute the ICC and submit a report to the Deputy Commissioner. The notice, issued by the Deputy Commissioner of the East Khasi Hills District, serves as a final warning. Failure to comply will result in penalties as outlined in Section 26 of the Act, which addresses an employer’s failure to establish an Internal Committee.
