Nongstoin, September 30: The West Khasi Hills District Administration has instituted a formal inquiry into allegations concerning the recruitment process for the post of Staff Nurse at MCH Hospital, Nongstoin.
The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, West Khasi Hills District, said it has taken serious cognizance of the matter following a representation submitted by the VPP State Youth Wing. In its response, the district administration stressed that integrity, transparency and meritocracy in recruitment are of paramount importance and warned that any act of corruption or illegal demand would be dealt with strictly in accordance with law.
A two-member Formal Inquiry Committee has been constituted comprising West Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police H. Kharkongor, MPS, and AC & Executive Magistrate E. Lyngdoh, MCS.
The administration has also made it clear that no result or final selection list will be published or released until the inquiry is completed and the matter is thoroughly resolved.
Candidates and members of the public have been cautioned against touts, middlemen or any individuals claiming they can influence the selection process. Any illegal solicitation should be reported to the District Administration or the Inquiry Committee.
The District Administration said appropriate action under the law will be taken after the inquiry is completed and the formal report is submitted.
