Shillong, March 30 : BSF Meghalaya troops have reported successful operations in preventing cross-border illegal activities along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
On March 29, 2025, troops from the 110th Battalion, BSF Meghalaya, intercepted a cattle smuggling attempt, apprehending four Indian nationals and seizing three vehicles loaded with 13 cattle. The cattle were intended for smuggling into Bangladesh through the East Khasi Hills district. The apprehended individuals were unable to provide a valid explanation for possessing the cattle.
In a separate incident on the same day, troops from the 172nd Battalion, BSF, apprehended a Bangladeshi national, Shamsuddin, from Sylhet district, while he was attempting to infiltrate into Indian territory in the East Jaintia Hills district.
The apprehended Indian nationals, along with the seized cattle and vehicles, and the Bangladeshi national have been handed over to the respective police stations for further investigation and legal action.
