Shillong, May 12: The Meghalaya Home (Police) Department on Tuesday issued a notification announcing a major reshuffle and transfer of several IPS and MPS officers in the interest of public service.
According to the notification issued by the Home (Police) Department, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Western Range, Tura, Jerry Fisher K. Marak has been transferred and posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Eastern Range, Shillong, replacing Vivekanand Singh, who has been shifted to Western Range, Tura.
Siddharth Kumar Ambedkar, Commandant of the 5th MLP Battalion, Samanda, has been transferred as Commandant of the 6th MLP Battalion, Umran, while Shailendra Bamaniya has been posted as Superintendent of Police, CID, Shillong.
The government also transferred Pawar Swapnil Vasantrao from Superintendent of Police, North Garo Hills District, to Superintendent of Police, East Garo Hills District, Williamnagar.
Meanwhile, Naman Kumar, Superintendent of Police (Vigilance & Security), Shillong, has been posted as Superintendent of Police, CM Security, Shillong, while Ashish has been transferred as Superintendent of Police, Vigilance & Security.
Dewansh Pandey, Superintendent of Police, City Shillong, has been posted as Assistant Inspector General of Police (Law & Order), Shillong.
The reshuffle also includes the transfer of Hari Prasant M.R. from Superintendent of Police, MPRO, Tura, to Superintendent of Police (Traffic), East Khasi Hills, Shillong.
Among MPS officers, Stephen A. Rynjah has been transferred from Superintendent of Police, East Garo Hills District, Williamnagar, to Commandant of the 5th MLP Battalion, Samanda.
Ringrang T.G. Momin has been posted as Superintendent of Police, South Garo Hills District, Baghmara, while Geffry Waemhok Lyngdoh has been transferred as Superintendent of Police, Eastern West Khasi Hills District, Mairang.
Further, Dangsan Khyrniem, Superintendent of Police, Eastern West Khasi Hills District, Mairang, has been posted as Superintendent of Police, City Shillong, replacing Dewansh Pandey.
The notification stated that all transfers will take effect from the date the officers take over charge or until further orders.
