KSU NEHU Unit Extends Support to Orphaned Children at Neima Children’s Home

Shillong, March 15 : The KSU NEHU Unit, led by its General Secretary Ibakordor Marwein, visited the Neima Children’s Home in Pynursla to extend support and encouragement to the children under the theme “Be a Seed of Goodness.”

During the visit, members of the Union interacted with the children and organised various activities aimed at bringing joy and positivity. The programme also saw the presence of Babu Khonglah, caretaker and manager of the children’s home, who shared insights into the establishment of the institution.

He informed that the home was set up to support children who have lost their parents and would otherwise have to move to other states with the help of external missions. He also highlighted that many more children are seeking admission, but the facility is currently unable to accommodate them due to limited space.

The KSU members spent time engaging with the children through games, fun activities, and interactive sessions. Competitions and entertainment programmes were organised for students from Nursery to Class 12, creating an atmosphere of happiness and enthusiasm. The event also provided a platform for children to showcase their talents, reflecting their creativity and potential.

Apart from distributing essential items and support materials, the KSU NEHU Unit emphasised the importance of motivating the children to remain hopeful, stay positive, and work hard in their studies so they can build a better future and contribute back to society. The Union stated that the visit was aimed at encouraging the children not to lose hope, but to continue striving with determination and confidence.

The KSU NEHU Unit expressed hope that their visit would serve as both motivation for the children and an example for society to come forward and extend support to such institutions and vulnerable children.
