Shillong, Jan, 09: Shillong Lajong’s opening match of the Kalinga Super Cup 2024 will be against ISL side Kerala Blasters FC on January 10th, 2024, at 2 p.m. in Kalinga Stadium, Pitch 1, Bhubaneswar.
The Reds are placed in Group B alongside Kerala Blasters FC, North-East United FC, and Jamshedpur FC. This will be Lajong’s first match of the year after a short gap when they last played against Namdhari on 23rd of December last year in the I-League.
For Lajong, it will not be an easy task as they will meet a team that is currently at the top of the ISL table. This is also the first time that these two teams will be facing each other in the history of Indian football.
This edition of the tournament promises to be a grand spectacle as teams from both the ISL and I- League will look to battle it out and clinch the trophy, with the competition winners securing a direct entry into the 2024 AFC Champions League-2 Group.
