Shillong, September 30: Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Home (Police) Prestone Tynsong has said that the law will take its own course in connection with the alleged disruption of the Staff Nurse recruitment interview for MCH Hospital, Nongstoin, by the VPP MDC from Nongstoin.
Tynsong said that while anyone is free to raise allegations over a recruitment process, such concerns do not give a person the right to disrupt an ongoing interview. “When you make an allegation, please don’t disrupt any ongoing interview. Let the interview go on. Allow the candidates who were called, because by doing this you get nothing,” he said.
The Deputy Chief Minister said the government has already initiated verification and investigation into the allegations raised over the recruitment process. “Since an allegation has been made, verification and investigation is on. We will verify and investigate it. We need to reach a conclusion. Once that is done, action will be taken accordingly,” Tynsong said.
Reiterating the government’s stand on recruitment, he said the state has been opposed to any manipulation in the selection process. “From day one we are totally against manipulation in the recruitment process,” he said.
Asked whether action would be taken against the MDC, Tynsong said no elected representative is above the law. “Whether MLA, MDC or MP, as far as you are a citizen of the state or citizen of India, you are guided by law. So law will take its own course,” he said.
