LPG Prices Shoot Up: Domestic Cylinder Costlier by ₹60, Commercial by ₹115

Shillong, March 7 : State-owned Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have announced an increase in the prices of both domestic and commercial Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders across the country, with the revised rates coming into effect from March 7.

According to the latest revision, the price of a 14.2 kg non-subsidized domestic cooking gas cylinder has been increased by ₹60 nationwide. Meanwhile, the price of the 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has gone up by ₹115.

Following the hike, the price of a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder in Delhi has risen from ₹853 to ₹913. In Mumbai, the price has increased to ₹912.50. In Kolkata, the cylinder now costs around ₹939, while in Chennai the price stands at ₹928.50.

Industry officials attributed the increase to rising global energy costs and supply chain disruptions linked to heightened geopolitical tensions in West Asia. This marks the first revision in domestic LPG prices in nearly 11 months, with the last change having taken place in April 2025.

Despite the increase, beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana will continue to receive a subsidy of ₹300 per 14.2 kg LPG cylinder.
