MBOSE SSLC Results Announced, Record-Breaking Pass Percentage 87.10%

Tura, April 5 : The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) has announced the results of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Examination 2025, conducted from February 10th to 25th, 2025.

A total of 63,682 students appeared for the examination, with 55,473 students passing. Among the successful candidates, 22,726 are male and 32,747 are female. This year’s pass percentage has reached an impressive 87.10%, the highest in the past 10 years, surpassing the previous year’s 55.80%. Of the successful students, 18,903 passed five subjects, and 36,570 passed all six subjects.

The number of candidates increased significantly compared to last year’s 54,134, primarily due to the elimination of the Selection Test. A similar increase was observed in 2021 when the Selection Test was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, the number of Top Twenty Rank Holders has also risen dramatically to 85, compared to 37 last year, with representation from both urban and rural schools. Additionally, 341 schools achieved a 100% pass rate, a substantial increase from last year’s 180 schools.

The MBOSE attributes this year’s exceptional results to the dedication of the students, the revised question pattern, and the introduction of the CM IMPACT-Guidebook, which has been particularly beneficial for students lacking access to quality study materials.

The examination was conducted smoothly with the collaboration of the Education Department, District Administration, Police Department, Heads of Institutions, and teachers. The results were declared earlier than in previous years, thanks to digital interventions by the Board and the new question pattern. In 2024, the examination took place from March 4th to 15th, and results were declared on May 24th.

Starting this year, the Board will conduct a Supplementary Examination towards the end of April 2025 for students who have failed in any subject. Further details will be released next week.

MBOSE has expressed its appreciation to the schools and teachers for their dedication and role in the students’ success. The board aims to continue working towards providing quality education and maintaining high pass percentages in the coming years.
