Shillong, August 23 : Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma was admitted to the Civil Hospital in Shillong today after being diagnosed with Scrub Typhus and Typhoid. He had been experiencing high temperature and severe illness since August 22nd and was initially treated at home.
After undergoing blood tests, the diagnosis revealed the presence of both Scrub Typhus and Typhoid. Despite receiving initial treatment, the Chief Minister’s condition warranted hospitalization due to persistent high fever.
A team of senior specialists at the Civil Hospital is providing medication and close monitoring. Although the Chief Minister continues to exhibit severe symptoms of these climate change-related diseases, his vital signs are within the normal range.
