Meghalaya Entrepreneurs Sign MoUs with International Buyers at RBSM 2.0 in Shillong

Shillong, October 9: Several entrepreneurs from Meghalaya have secured business linkages with international buyers, with some signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for the supply of locally produced goods to overseas markets during the second edition of the Reverse Buyer Seller Meet (RBSM 2.0) in Shillong.

The two-day event, organised by the Department of Commerce and Industries, Government of Meghalaya, concluded on Friday at the State Convention Centre, bringing together entrepreneurs from all 12 districts of the State and buyers from India and abroad.

During the meet, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from Meghalaya interacted directly with domestic and international buyers, showcased their products and explored opportunities for trade partnerships and exports.

The discussions focused on understanding international market requirements, identifying potential buyers and establishing long-term business relationships.

According to the organisers, several MSMEs successfully established business connections with overseas buyers, while some formalised agreements through MoUs for the supply of their products to international markets.

More than 300 entrepreneurs participated in RBSM 2.0, alongside 32 domestic and international buyers, making the event an important platform for promoting Meghalaya’s locally manufactured and indigenous products.

The initiative was aimed at helping local entrepreneurs overcome market access challenges by connecting them directly with potential buyers and providing opportunities to understand changing consumer demands.

The meet is expected to strengthen business networks, expand export opportunities and promote the growth of Meghalaya’s MSME sector.

Officials expressed optimism that the partnerships established during the event would help local entrepreneurs access wider markets, attract investment and contribute to the State’s economic development.
