Shillong, June 3 : The Meghalaya Transport Corporation (MTC) has announced the resumption of its much-anticipated helicopter service operations, effective June 2, 2025. This move is set to significantly enhance connectivity between Guwahati, Shillong, and Tura, offering a faster and more convenient travel option for residents and visitors alike.
According to the Managing Director of MTC, the service will operate on a structured schedule throughout the week.
Service Schedule and Fare Structure:
The helicopter service will run on specific days with fixed timings and fares, all inclusive of GST:
- Monday, Wednesday, and Friday:
- Guwahati – Shillong: 8:30 AM (Rs. 2200/- per head)
- Shillong – Guwahati: 9:10 AM (Rs. 2200/- per head)
- Guwahati – Tura: 9:30 AM (Rs. 2200/- per head)
- Tura – Guwahati: 10:45 AM (Rs. 2200/- per head)
- Guwahati – Shillong: 12:00 PM (Rs. 2200/- per head)
- Shillong – Guwahati: 12:40 PM (Rs. 2200/- per head)
- Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday:
- Guwahati – Shillong: 9:30 AM (Rs. 2200/- per head)
- Shillong – Guwahati: 10:10 AM (Rs. 2200/- per head)
- Guwahati – Shillong: 12:00 PM (Rs. 2200/- per head)
- Shillong – Guwahati: 12:40 PM (Rs. 2200/- per head)
The MTC also confirmed a dedicated fare for the Shillong to Tura via Guwahati route (and vice versa), which will be charged at Rs. 3000/- per head, inclusive of GST.
