Shillong, March 24 : The Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, Thomas A. Sangma, conducted an inspection and chaired a review meeting on Monday to assess the progress of the under-construction New Assembly building at Mawdiangdiang.
The meeting, held at the construction site, aimed to evaluate the project’s current status and address any challenges hindering its completion. Deputy Speaker Timothy D. Shira, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister In-charge of Parliamentary Affairs Prestone Tynsong, and other officials from the Meghalaya Assembly Secretariat participated in the review.
Representatives from various line departments, including the Public Works Department (PWD), Parliamentary Affairs Department, Design Associates, and other Assembly officials, were also present to provide updates and address concerns.
Following the inspection, a joint meeting was held to discuss the project’s progress. The Speaker expressed satisfaction with the meeting’s outcome, emphasizing the crucial role of collaboration among all stakeholders to ensure the timely completion of the New Assembly building.
