Shillong, July 18 : Two young and dynamic Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) from Meghalaya, Rose Angeline Kharsyntiew and Sengbath D Sangma, have brought laurels to the state by receiving national recognition at the CSC Diwas Celebration held in New Delhi on July 16, 2025. Their achievements underscore the growing impact of the Digital India initiative at the grassroots level in Meghalaya.
Rose Angeline Kharsyntiew from Mairang, Eastern West Khasi Hills, was conferred with the prestigious CSC Udyami Ratna Samman. This award recognizes her significant contributions as a VLE through her “Rose CSC” center in Mairang, where she has not only created self-employment but also generated opportunities for others. Her center provides crucial access to various government and private services, bridging the digital divide in her community.
Meanwhile, Sengbath D Sangma from Samanda, East Garo Hills, was honored as the Top Transacting VLE of FY 2024-2025 for Meghalaya. His award acknowledges his exceptional performance in facilitating digital transactions and services, marking him as a leader in digital service delivery within the state.
The awards were presented during the CSC Diwas 2025, an event commemorating 16 years of Common Service Centres (CSCs) empowering citizens at the last mile across India. CSCs are a vital component of the Digital India initiative, designed to ensure that digital services reach every corner of the country, fostering inclusion and development.
