Shillong, Rymphang, 23: The Meghalaya Sport Climbing and Mountaineering Association (MeSCMA) in its Annual General Body Meeting held at Shillong on saturday have felicitated four athletes who won medals in the North East Zone Championship 2025.
On the other hand the General Body has elected and approved the following members of the Executive committee for the year 2025-2029 in presence of Mr Pynbianglang Laloo, Asst Secretary MSOA as an Observer.
The newly elected officer bearer are, President Malviancy Shabong, Vice-President Dr W. W Phira, General Secretary Wallambok Lyngdoh, Asst-Secretary Teimiki Sungoh, Treasurer David Laloo and five executive members are Fullmoon Lyngdoh, Pilaster Nongsiej, Kayleigh Petra Nongkynrih, Anthony Nongrum and Teiboklang Wanniang.
MeSCMA since its inception in 2002 has promoted adventure activities and Sport Climbing throughout the Districts in the State in collaboration with different government department like Nehru Yuva Kendra and District Sports Office with the support from Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs and Meghalaya State Olympic Association.
This year Sport Climbing has been included as a competitive event in the 6th Meghalaya Games 2025 and some athletes from Garo Hills for the first time won medals for their District from this competition, the release said.
