Tura, August 29 : Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Minister A L Hek inaugurated a milk parlor and worker’s amenity block at New Dairy Complex, Ganol in Tura on August 29, 2023. The milk parlor is funded under Meghalaya Milk Mission & National Programme for Dairy Development, while the worker’s amenity block is funded under National Programme for Dairy Development, West Garo Hills.
The Minister also handed over keys of two motorcycles to MAITRI’s (Private AI Worker) under Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM). The motorcycles will enable the MAITRI’s to provide timely Artificial Insemination (AI) services to farmers at their doorstep.
During his visit, the Minister inspected various government farms and institutions in Garo Hills. He discussed various issues with the concerned officers and highlighted the constraints and challenges faced in different farms.
The Minister assured the officers that the government is committed to providing all necessary support to the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department. He also urged the officers to work hard to achieve the department’s goals.
