Shillong, April 2: The North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO) celebrated its 51st Foundation Day on April 2, 2026, at its Corporate Office in Shillong, marking more than five decades of dedicated service to the nation’s power sector. The programme commenced with a ceremonial Guard of Honour followed by the hoisting of the NEEPCO flag, symbolizing the organisation’s continued commitment to excellence and service.
In his keynote address, the Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) lauded NEEPCO’s journey and its significant contributions, particularly in the North Eastern Region. He praised the organisation’s consistent performance, achievements, and the dedication of its workforce in delivering excellence across projects and operations. Referring to NEEPCO as the hydro arm of NTPC, he highlighted its strategic importance in strengthening India’s renewable energy portfolio.
B. Maharana, Director (Finance), delivered the welcome address, highlighting NEEPCO’s journey, achievements, and future vision. He expressed pride in the organisation’s transformation over the past five decades into a key pillar of India’s energy landscape.
A documentary tracing NEEPCO’s journey—from its inception to its current achievements—was screened during the programme, showcasing its evolution and major milestones. The event also featured the inauguration of the Vigilance Bulletin, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to transparency and accountability.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by the Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO), marking the end of the Foundation Day celebrations. NEEPCO’s 51st Foundation Day highlights its continued role in advancing power generation and renewable energy development, especially in the North Eastern region of the country.
