NIGHT CURFEW WITHDRAWN IN WEST GARO HILLS AS SITUATION RETURNS TO NORMAL

Tura, April 2 : The District Magistrate of West Garo Hills has withdrawn the night curfew imposed across the district, citing significant improvement in the law and order situation.

The curfew, which had been enforced on March 19 under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), has now been lifted following a review of the current situation.

Authorities stated that law and order is now under control, allowing for relaxation of restrictions in the interest of public convenience.

With the withdrawal of the curfew, Movement of the general public is now permitted, , Shops and commercial establishments can function normally and all lawful activities have resumed across the district. Officials clarified that all activities must continue to comply with existing laws and regulations.

The administration has appealed to residents to maintain peace and communal harmony, avoid any actions that could disturb public order. Authorities warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone attempting to disrupt peace.

Even as restrictions are lifted, law enforcement agencies have been directed to remain vigilant and take prompt action to prevent any untoward incidents.

The order, issued by District Magistrate Vibhor Aggarwal, IAS, comes into force with immediate effect, marking a return to normalcy in West Garo Hills district.
