Shillong, February 18 : The Shillong Traffic Police (STP) has announced a traffic restriction in view of the upcoming Members of District Council (MDC) election to the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC).
A press release issued by the Superintendent of Police (City), East Khasi Hills, stated that a No-Entry restriction will be imposed on vehicular traffic at the ISBT junction towards Mawlai Bypass Mawkynroh on February 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM onwards. Vehicles will be diverted towards the main road.
This restriction is being implemented to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the election.
Emergency service vehicles will be exempted from this restriction.
The Shillong Traffic Police has requested the cooperation of the public and regrets any inconvenience caused by this temporary traffic measure.
