Akashvani North Eastern Service is set to host a vibrant North East Music Concert on 23 July 2025 at 3:00 PM at the U Soso Tham Auditorium, at State Central Library, Shillong, to mark National Broadcasting Day and celebrate 90 years of Akashvani’s service to the nation.
The event will be graced by Dr. Pragya Paliwal Gaur, Director General of Akashvani, as the Chief Guest, and promises to be a celebration of the region’s musical diversity.
The concert will feature dynamic performances by leading artists and bands from all eight Northeastern states. The musical line-up includes Jayanta Jamatia from Tripura, Lungleng Trio from Mizoram, Joe’s Apartment from Sikkim, Rupam & Friends from Assam, Innocent Eyes from Manipur, AR Folk from Arunachal Pradesh, Fifth Note from Nagaland, and Summersalt from Meghalaya. Their performances will span folk, fusion, contemporary and traditional genres, offering the audience an opportunity to experience the spirit of the North East on one stage.
Entry to the concert is free for the general public to be a part of this musical celebration. The North East Music Concert is set to be an evening of a unique blend of sound and culture, bringing the spirit of song and shared heritage.
