Shillong, December 30 : Anticipating a large public gathering at Police Bazar on New Year’s Eve, the Shillong Traffic Police (STP) will impose “No Entry” for vehicles heading towards Police Bazar on December 31, 2025, from 5:00 pm onwards, the Office of the Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills, said in a press release.
To reduce congestion and ensure public safety, traffic will be diverted:
- At Kachari Point towards Raj Bhawan junction
- At Umsohsun Junction (GS Road) towards Boucher Road and Motphran
Vehicles will be permitted to park only on one side of the road along the following stretches:
- Centenary Junction to Rap’s Mansion Junction
- Pinewood Junction to Botanical Garden Junction
Police said only emergency service vehicles will be allowed to ply and will be facilitated during the restriction period.
Citizens have been requested to plan their journeys accordingly, and the police expressed regret for any inconvenience caused.
