Shillong, August 8 : The Meghalaya Police have arrested 12 illegal Bangladeshi nationals in Baghmara, South Garo Hills District.
The South Garo Hills Police acted swiftly and booked the foreigners under Section 12 of the Foreigners Act. They have been remanded to judicial custody. The police are also investigating how the foreigners managed to enter India illegally.
This is a major success for the Meghalaya Police in their fight against illegal immigration. It is also a reminder of the need to be vigilant against such activities.
