Shillong, November 18: Meghalaya’s match against Manipur in the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 plate group looks like it is heading for a draw, with only a terrific bowling effort capable of snatching victory for either team on the final day tomorrow.
Today Manipur, resuming on 180/4, were all out in their first innings for 342, which gave Meghalaya, who made 430/10, a lead of 88. At stumps on the third day Meghalaya were 49/1 in their second innings, which has taken their lead to 137.
AL Bashid and Priyojit were 52 and 49 not out overnight but, while both added runs this morning, neither was able to push on for a big score, with Bashid run out by Kishan Lyngdoh for 64 and Priyojit dismissed LBW by Chengkam Sangma for 71.
Jotin Pheiroijam also got a half-century (86) before being run out by Akash Chaudhary. Chengkam finished with the best figures for Meghalaya of 2/50 in 18 overs, while Akash took 2/68 in 29.3 and Aryan Borah 2/83 in 34.
Meghalaya then had to bat for around an hour before close of play. They lost Arien Bonchang Sangma for 7 but Arpit Bhatewara (16 not out) and guest player Ajay Duhan (25 not out) saw them safely to stumps.
